About Our Doctors
Dr. Erik Wells
Dr. Erik Wells grew up in Florida. He attended Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. Dr. Erik knew at an early age that he wanted to pursue a career in the healthcare field, but narrowed it down to dentistry while at Furman University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. In 1994, Dr. Wells completed his dental training at the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in Augusta, Georgia. After graduation he received an additional year of training at Fort Benning, Georgia, in the one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency. Dr. Erik continued serving as a Captain in the Army for another four years and spent time in South Korea and Alaska.
Dr. Erik regularly attends continuing education courses in order to provide the best care for his patients. He is also very active in the American Dental Association, the American Association of Pediatric Dentistry, the Georgia Dental Association (Board of Trustees member), the Eastern District Dental Society (currently President), the Georgia Association of Pediatric Dentistry and the Clarke County Dental Society.
Dr. Erik and Dr. Jennifer currently reside in Jefferson, Georgia with their two daughters, Zoe and Rachel. The Wells are members of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Athens, where Dr. Erik is currently directing a Habitat for Humanity project for the church. Dr. Erik enjoys riding motorcycles, photography, and when he has time, an occasional book.
Dr. Jennifer Wells
Dr. Jennifer Wells grew up in McRae, Georgia. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia in 1992 before attending the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. There she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD) in 1996. After dental school, she was commissioned by the United States Public Health Service and stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska, where she provided dental care to Alaska natives for 2 ½ years. It was during this assignment that she decided to specialize in treating the dental needs of children. Dr. Wells completed her pediatric residency at the Medical College of Georgia in 2001. She opened her private practice in July, 2001, and her husband, Erik, joined the practice full time in 2004.
Dr. Wells is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, the Eastern District Dental Society, the Clarke County Dental Society, and she is past-president of the Georgia Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Wells enjoys spending time with her husband, Erik, and their daughters, Zoe & Rachel. She also enjoys reading and scuba diving.
